#Book Review : Words from my Window by Ruskin Bond

I started rereading this book on my favourite writer, Ruskin Bond’s  86th birthday which we celebrated a few days back. I can’t get enough of it as every page takes me to the sweet memory lane which I spent in Mussoorie 4 years back. This was visit was a much-awaited item from my bucket list; to meet the creator of Rusty. Every entry and the fabulous illustrations reminded me of the long walks, meadows full of blossom and the cold chill which made the experience so fulfilling.

This book contains small memories, experiences and accounts of people who complete the jigsaw puzzle of Bond’s illustrious life. After reading each journal entry as a reader I was at awe to see the beauty of ordinary incidents and things portrayed in an extraordinary manner. The illustrations are vivid and bold which lends a sweet serenity to the entire book.

Bond can never disappoint you and that’s why time again I have taken refuge in his writing which is so full of warmth and compassion.

Pick up this gem today to make these uncertain times more positive and cheerful.
